Traditionally singing bowls are used for healing properties, medatation, ritualistic. For trance induction or for performance.
Singling bowls- himalayan bowls or ‘rin’ or ’suzu gongs’ in Japan. the bowl acts like a kind of a bell. the instrument is used to play the bowl. Teh sounds are make by using the tool with a felt covered or leather covered end around the rim of the bowl or by Striking it!

there are also Crystal bowls which are made from silicone glass and have a sharper clearer note.
