Alongside carrying out artistic and technical research, the .ekwc is also interested in experiments which study how ceramics can appeal to the various senses.
The centre also organises experiments itself. In 2000, experiments took place with viewing ceramics and in 2002 with tasting ceramics.

This summer the focus is on the relation between ceramics and Sounds. Over the past ten years, various artists and designers have spent their art-residency at the European Ceramic Workcentre (.ekwc) on studying this relationship. The Ceramics and Sound exhibition showcases the results of their experiments.
